Here are the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) I often receive before a Cakesmash  photography session. I thought to myself why not summarise these here to give you much more in-depth and easy to read information, when you are browsing my website. This should give you a good overview of what to expect during your Cakesmash photography sessions.

When is the ideal age for my Childs Cakesmash session and when should I book with you.

The ideal age is 10-13mths old please note your baby must be sitting unassisted for Cakesmash.

Best time to book is when your baby is around 6-7mths old to be sure to you get one of my Cakesmash timeslots.

Can I Bring the whole family including grandparents.

No I'm sorry you can only have 2 adults at a Cakesmash session. Much better to surprise them with some lovely images afterwards.

How long will the Cakesmash session last? 

Usually from your arrival to the Cakesmash finish it's around 1hr long.

 

Where will the photoshoot take place?

My studio is located in Taylors lakes Victoria.

Very accessible only 1 minute off the Calder Fwy exit.

What is included in the price?

All pricing packages are clearly stated along above in the Pricing tab with your chance to Level up your package to include extra images, prints and Albums.

What should I pay attention to prior to the session? How do I prepare?

Can my other Children be involved?

No I'm sorry unless you book the fancy pants upgrade where we do some family shots after the Cakesmash, it is best in my experience for you to not bring siblings to a Cakesmash. They can be very distracting to your baby trust me on more than one occasion a Cakesmash has gone awry due to a uncooperative sibling.

Do I need to help Set up or Clean up??

No thank you I will be all set up when you arrive, and you can walk out and leave the mess to me afterall that is what you are paying me for..

What if my Child doesn't like it?

Don't worry yourself I am very experienced with Cakesmash Photography. I will chat with you before we get started whilst playing with your child

and will guide you through how the whole session plays out. I have some tricks of the trade that will get even the fussiest baby wearing a headband or hat at some point.

 

How long after the session can we expect the images?

Fully Edited galleries will usually be ready 2 weeks after your Cakesmash experience

 

I would like to use an image for my First Birthday invites can you make this happen?

Of course! If you let me know in advance that this is the case, I can make sure to provide you with one high resolution image for your invites within 48hrs after your session.

 

Will I get dirty too?

YES YES AND YES I can almost guarantee your messy cake covered baby will hop into your arms for a reassuring cuddle at some point please check the prep guide and definitely bring spare clothes to drive home in.

 

Can I bring my own cake? 

Yes you can bring your own cake just check with me beforehand to discuss as it's my experience it is a job better left to the professionals.
