~ Maternity Preparation Guide ~

Pregnancy is a such a sacred time in every woman’s life. It can be a very magical time! A time to celebrate a new life to love and the beginning of a beautiful new life together. If you are choosing to document this very special time, make sure you prepare yourself as much as possible to get the most out of your photographs. The information on this page serves as a general guide to help you to get ready for your maternity photo session. The more prepared you are for the day, the more smoothly your shoot will go. If you don’t see something on this session guide and you have concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions before your appointment. I am here to help!

I  suggest you do your Maternity Photoshoot when you are between 28-34 weeks pregnant, when you have a full, round belly but can still comfortably move around.

Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise!

  • Apply lotion to your belly to alleviate the look of any dry skin.

Information:

  • What to wear? What to bring? Let's help you personalize your session so it is just as unique as you are...

  • Feel free to bring along anything you want to capture this special time in.

  • I have loads of different maternity gowns, wraps materials etc all available to use please advise me with a screen shot of any must have gowns you have seen on my social media or website and i will be sure to have it out ready to use.

  • Please bring a strapless bra if you have one and also white/beige and black underwear.

  • Also bring a pretty matching set if you are comfortable getting your gear off.

HAIR AND MAKEUP, SPRAY TANNING

  • If you choose to get your hair and make up done or even if you do it yourself please note hair down and flowy is better we can always pin it up for a few shots of need be.

  • Make up is best done with a heavier foundation base more like night time look as the studio light may wash you out if you go too light.

  • If you Spray tan please be sure to go easy on the hands they will feature in your shoot and we all know how bad they can look if we aren't careful. I have a spray tanning business and have been tanning clients for over 15yrs so  my advice is moisturise those hands as much as you can in the weeks leading up to your shoot. I also have a fantastic Make up artist living right next door to the studio so hit me for her details if you need some help with your Make-up.

  • Drink lots of water leading up in the days before your shoot it will help you look all lovely and glowing.

Partners

Partners and children are welcome at your maternity session they are the ultimate props! please be sure they have groomed themselves as well. Especially those hands nice clean nails on show touching your baby bump. they can wear what they are comfortable in just try to not have any logos etc on their clothes. i have loads of  tutus and flower crowns for the little girls to be matching with Mummy.

Maternity Sessions are a time where we can have a giggle and just have a lovely relaxed time getting to know each other one of my favourite sessions always so much fun. So if you are not sure or feel a little anxious please don't!!! You will look back on those memories at some point and be so glad you did take the time to do it and so will your baby. I would love to have images now at my age of my mum pregnant with me, back in ancient times it wasn't a thing but it is now so be sure to contact me for your session time.
